The position

We lead the market in Subsea Rock Installation (SRI) for stabilising and protecting offshore infrastructure. Our fleet of flexible fallpipe vessels enable us to stabilise and protect pipelines, cables, and other installations. You as a HSE Coordinator SRI are indispensable in this! 

As a HSE Coordinator SRI, you are our expert in the field of QHSE and you work closely with various departments and teams within the company to ensure the safety and quality of our services. By doing this, you will support Van Oord's tender and project teams at our Gorinchem office. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing the required HSE documentation for various international projects and tenders, and sharing it with the relevant stakeholders. You will also collaborate on internal projects and department matters, such as incident management and training. Occasionally, you may be assigned to shorter work periods in support of projects as needed.


Your responsibilities

With your eye for detail and excellent communicative skills, you will work effectively with various stakeholders to make a positive contribution to our QHSE activities and increase safety awareness- and culture within the organization. You take care of HSE related documentation for tenders and projects, based on the Van Oord Management System, local legislation and client specifications. In addition, you are responsible for:

  • communicating and coordinating with colleagues in the relevant tenders and projects;
  • improving internal projects within the QHSE department and the Business Unit as a whole;
  • support and advise on projects on-site where required;
  • implementing QHSE Policy and Annual Plan to meet department objectives;
  • performing audits and inspections within applicable projects;
  • review and assist with Hazard Identification & Risk Assessments (HIRA) for projects to minimize HSE risks and hazards.


Job requirements

With your analytical skills, you translate theory into practical solutions. As an HSE Coordinator you work in a structured and organized way and you have excellent social and communicative skills. You enjoy working in a professional and enthusiastic team. Furthermore, you:

  • work and think at Higher Vocational Education level (HBO)’’
  • have at least 5 years of work experience in a similar role (with operational project experience preferred);
  • are flexible towards travelling abroad when required (occasionally);
  • have a good command of the English language in word and writing.
